Twitter reacts to Matt Nagy’s offseason press conference
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy fulfilled with the media on Tuesday for his yearly pre-Scouting Integrate interview. However while there’s no Integrate this year, Nagy was still peppered with concerns about his group’s instructions in 2021.
Nagy raved about new defensive coordinator Sean Desai, as well as the hirings of newcomers Mike Pettine and Tom Herman to help on defense and offense, respectively.
When the topic of quarterback came up, Nagy reiterated what general manager Ryan Pace said in that they aren’t ruling out Mitchell Trubisky or Nick Foles as the starter. But everything is indeed on the table — be it through free agency, the NFL draft or even a trade.
Twitter had plenty to say about Nagy’s press conference, which they appeared to enjoy more than Pace’s presser just before it. Still, it wasn’t exactly a glowing review.
Who’s ready to hear about how they need to find their identity on offense?

I’ll take a Nagy presser over a Pace one every day. Pace’s give 0 insight and are pretty much a waste of time. Not that Nagy gives a ton of specifics but at least there’s always a couple things to take away from him.

When asked about traits he looks at when searching for a QB, it took Nagy about 45 seconds to mention Alex Smith by name. #Bears Week 1 starter folks. I keep saying it.

Listening to Matt Nagy now and I am convinced this is a 4-12 team next year without Russ/Deshaun/Mitch under center.
Pace and Nagy have got to be the most tuned out head coach and GM by a fan base I’ve ever seen. #Bears

Is it me or is Nagy mentioning Trubisy alot this presser. As opposed to last presser when they wouldnt even say his name.

I absolutely think Nagy is pushing HARD for Wilson or Watson.
— Jerry Ourada (@Brourada29) March 2, 2021
Listening to Nagy, it’s sounding more and more like Trubisky will be the Bears starter this season.

I wish someone would stick up for me the way Nagy does Foles

Fired up for that Alex Smith-Nick Foles-Mac Jones QB room

Matt Nagy respectfully declining to comment on Russ Wilson and Deshaun Watson. (I tried)

I’m Sorry I Wanted No Parts Of Hearing Nagy & Pace Speak. I’m Tired Of Them Just Talking. It’s About Time For Them To Start Making Actions. Those Words Are Meaningless To Me At This Point. ACTIONS BABY ACTIONS
