God of War: Ragnarok is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games at the end of 2022. While we feared a postponement to 2023, the title developed by Santa Monica Studio will land on PS4 and PS5 on November 9, 2022.
Only and as the launch is fast approaching, information about the game is still rare. This was without counting the specialized site GameInformer who was able to speak with the teams in charge of the fights of GOW: Ragnarok. The opportunity for players to learn more about combat mechanicsand especially to see Kratos in action for the 1st time thanks to a few extracts.
First of all, the developers summarize the spirit of the clashes of the game with the following slogan: “Play with your food” or “Play with your food” in the language of Molière. In other words, the idea is to allow players to having fun with their opponentssending them flying with the game’s new bulwarks and shields, or using the Blades of Chaos as a grappling hook to reach them quickly.

Kratos’ New Attacks in God of War: Ragnarok
Besides, Atreus will still be able to assist you in combat, by paralyzing the enemies, but also by destroying certain elements of the decor which can cause damage. But the real novelty lies in the new functions assigned to the Triangle button.
In the God of War reboot released in 2019, pressing Triangle would return the Leviathan ax once thrown. Or to take the ax in hand if you were equipped with the blades of Chaos. Gold, the developers decided to add a new set of moves. By holding down the key, Kratos will be able to infuse the steel of the ax with gel, and those of the blades of Chaos with fire.
With these new signature techniques, the player will therefore be able to ignite his enemies or freeze them more easily. Among the other small novelties, we also note the addition of new executions (here with the blades of Chaos). So much for this quick overview of the combats of God of War: Ragnarok. However, we hope that Sony will soon decide to dedicate a State of Play to gamingwhich it must be said, has still shown too little.
