A storm lingering in New England today will allow for
showery weather to persist from the Maine coast back across

the Great Lakes. In most locations, any wet weather is
expected to fall as rain; however, some areas may be just
cold enough for some snowflakes to mix in, especially during
the morning hours. Any areas that miss out on the showers,
especially across the Midwest, are more likely to have cool
enough conditions for frost and freeze. An area of high
pressure over the Tennessee Valley will keep it mostly dry
across the southeastern U.S., with the exception of the
Florida Peninsula that may have a couple thunderstorms. Some
late-day thunderstorms are expected in the central Plains,
as a storm continues to bring rain and mountain snow to the
