The Adventure Zone returns to its original setting for a special series
The Experience Zone will go back to its initial setting for an unique three-part Dungeons & Dragons experience. At the head of the table will be Aabria Iyengar working as Dungeon Master. Episodes in the Imbalance series will start Nov. 10.
The Experience Zone is a real play podcast developed by Griffin McElroy, Justin McElroy, Travis “Big Dog” McElroy, and their daddy Clint McElroy. Its initial arc, which started in 2014, was called Balance. It mixed a detailed high-fantasy story with components of sci-fi. Its primary characters consist of Taako, Magnus Burnsides, and Merle Highchurch.
[Disclosure: Justin McElroy and Griffin McElroy co-founded Polygon before going full-time as podcasters and content creators. Though they still occasionally collaborate on projects at Vox Media, they’re disconnected from all editorial decision-making.]
Aabria Iyengar’s name has actually been all over the real play area considering that this summertime when she hosted an unique mini-campaign called Exandria Unlimited on the Vital Function channel. She was just recently revealed as part of Fight for Beyond, another mini-campaign where she’ll play a character together with Brennan Lee Mulligan (Measurement 20).
Real play experiences are growing, as is the 5th edition of D&D. Measurement 20 just recently revealed its winter season line-up of brand-new projects, consisting of a mini-campaign led by Gabe Hicks. Vital Function is now numerous episodes into its 3rd complete project, which has yet to be appropriately called.
