Nintendo Switch Sale Brings Top-Rated Strategy Game to Under $10

Between the Fire Emblem games other exclusives, the Nintendo Switch has no shortage of strategy titles, but one of the best strategy games the console boasts is actually a third-party title. That game is Slay the Spire, an acclaimed card-battler which has been out for a few years now and came to the Switch on 2019. It's performed well there just as it has on other platforms, and for those who haven't tried it out yet, you can grab it now for less than half the normal price now that it's just $9.99.Slay the Spire, for the uninitiated, is indeed a card game, but it's got other elements mixed into its formula, too. It incorporates roguelike mechanics as well and is a wholly single-player game which means that players don't have to worry about getting trounced in PvP by pe...

GTA 6 Hype Is Getting to Former Nintendo Boss

Millions of people are waiting with bated breath for Grand Theft Auto VI and it seems like the hype is even getting to former Nintendo of America executive Reggie Fils-Aimé. Grand Theft Auto is one of the biggest franchises in the history of entertainment thanks to its amazing sandbox gameplay, well-written stories, and captivating worlds. Grand Theft Auto V is the second best selling game of all-time behind Minecraft, which is even more impressive given how the latter has released on almost every relevant console, mobile devices, and PC. Rockstar's crime epic has managed to sustain an unprecedented amount of momentum for nearly 9 years thanks to the success of GTA Online, but that long-running success has left people anxiously awaiting the next entry in the series.One...

Will Call of Duty be on PlayStation forever? Phil Spencer doesn’t know

While Microsoft has said in the past that it will continue offering Call of Duty products on competing platforms like PlayStation, Xbox boss Phil Spencer doesn't know if these billion-dollar games will stay on those platforms in perpetuity. "So how far does this go? Does this mean Activision games, that Call of Duty that you'll be able to play on any platform in perpetuity?" Bloomberg's Emily Chang asked Spencer in a recent interview.Spencer replied:"I don't know what means in forever, like when you think about how long. It's not for any kind of nefarious business reason, it's just like what did platforms mean 10 years ago, like I think the definition of some of these things might change over time. But our expectation is we want more people to play."Microsoft had previously promised to...

What Was Your First Legend Of Zelda Game?

Image: Nintendo LifeLast Monday marked the 35th Anniversary of Metroid's release in North America for the NES, and we celebrated by compiling our "origins" stories for the franchise. This time, it's The Legend of Zelda's turn, with the debut title also celebrating its 35th Anniversary in North America tomorrow (22nd August). It's kind of crazy to think that Metroid and The Legend of Zelda came out so close to one another! The Legend of Zelda is arguably Nintendo's most important franchise, garnering critical acclaim amongst both media and the public for its vast scale, charming cast of characters, and awesome gear-based gameplay. Despite remaining consistently excellent for most of its lifetime, Nintendo gave the franchise an extra boost in 2017 with the launch of Breath of the Wild, u...

To access this option, you'll have to hold the 'Y' and 'R' buttons on the second player's controller and then press 'Start' or the 'A' button on the first player's controller. You then select the boxer for player two and have the same player hold down the 'B' and 'Y' buttons on their controller until the match begins. At the title, hold Y+R, then press A or START. 9 Games Making Nintendo Switch A JRPG Juggernaut In 2022

If I had bet on Square Enix reviving one one of its dormant B-tier franchises, it wouldn’t have been Valkyrie. I loved Valkyrie Profile on the original PlayStation and…that was about it. There was a mess of a sequel, an uneven tactics spin-off on the 3DS, and an underwhelming collectathon on mobile. Then in a March State of Play, Square revealed Valkyrie Elysium, a real-time action follow-up. I still can’t quite wrap my head around why, but anytime the publisher starts throwing the kitchen sink at the wall I’m here for it. Elysium looks visually unspectacular, but the deluxe version on console comes with the PSP remaster of the original game and that’s worth it for me alone.Platform: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PCRelease Date: September 29, 2022 (PS4, PS5) / November 11, 2022 (...

Minecraft Amiibos Release Date Revealed by Nintendo

The long-awaited Super Smash Bros. amiibo for Minecraft characters Steve and Alex are coming very soon. Amiibo are some of the most interesting and unique products from Nintendo, spawned during the time of the toys to life genre craze. Although that genre crashed and burned, leaving no real trace of a future in its demise, amiibo lived on. Although they're not as reliant on specific games as other toys to life projects, amiibo spawned a frenetic following. Namely, they're really well-made figures based on iconic characters that typically grant players access to in-game items that otherwise wouldn't be accessible. The latest wave of figures center around two Minecraft characters and they're coming very soon. After previously being slated for spring 2022, the Minecraft St...
