Nintendo Switch Sale Brings Top-Rated Strategy Game to Under $10

Between the Fire Emblem games other exclusives, the Nintendo Switch has no shortage of strategy titles, but one of the best strategy games the console boasts is actually a third-party title. That game is Slay the Spire, an acclaimed card-battler which has been out for a few years now and came to the Switch on 2019. It's performed well there just as it has on other platforms, and for those who haven't tried it out yet, you can grab it now for less than half the normal price now that it's just $9.99.Slay the Spire, for the uninitiated, is indeed a card game, but it's got other elements mixed into its formula, too. It incorporates roguelike mechanics as well and is a wholly single-player game which means that players don't have to worry about getting trounced in PvP by pe...

Nightdive Studios Was Apparently “Close” To Reviving GoldenEye 007

Image: Nintendo LifeRare's iconic first-person shooter GoldenEye 007 was thought to be stuck in licensing hell, but after ongoing rumours and last week's Nintendo Direct, it was officially announced for the Switch Online N64 service. We can't help but wonder though what might have happened if Nightdive Studios (Shadow Man, PowerSlave) had been given the right to revive this classic instead of Rare. According to the studio's CEO Stephen Kick, Nightdive apparently came incredibly close to securing the re-release. Here's what he had to say: "We @NightdiveStudio came *this* close to doing this, but ultimately I'm...

Outer Wilds On Switch “Is Still Happening”

In today's Annapurna Interactive Showcase, the developers of the gorgeous, stupidly incredible Outer Wilds said that the game is still coming to Switch. "You did not collectively hallucinate our announcement of Outer Wilds for the Nintendo Switch," said Mobius' spokesperson in the showcase. "It's possible that we were a bit over-optimistic on the time frame. At this point, it's possible that we just fundamentally misunderstand the Gregorian calendar." Still, no exact update — although they also simultaneously announced an Xbox Series S|X and PS5 launch for the game on September 15th (in 60FPS, no less!), so here's hoping us Switch players don't get completely left behind. Outer Wilds was first announced for the Nintendo Switch in February 2021 in a Nintendo Direct, for a Summer 2021 re...
