A fire at an Abbotsford, B.C., apartment complex left three people with minor injuries Tuesday morning. Firefighters were called to the building at 1909 Salton St. around 8 a.m. after flames broke out on the third floor, a spokesperson for the City of Abbotsford said.All 30 units in the building were evacuated, and crews were able to contain the fire to the third floor. Calgary firefighters are disappointed in the city’s outlook of the fire department’s funding in its upcoming four-year budget, Global News has learned. The new information comes after fire Chief Steve Dongworth addressed city councillors earlier this summer with several funding options to help bolster firefighting resources and response times.The total cost of the funding options came to $52 million in operating funds and $51 million in capital funds with the addition of 315 firefighters over the next four years. (WSAZ) -- After a fire left a well known local business destroyed, community members are stepping up to help those affected.Early on the morning of August 1, a fire broke out at R&R Tent Rentals near South Webster.The business would provide tents for events all over the region and beyond.Owner Rodney Wright says nearly their entire inventory was destroyed.“I started out with two tents 25 years ago, and I probably had 130 tents at this point,” Wright said.Wright says the most painful part of the loss was two tractors that belonged to his father and grandfather.Kristie Johnson is a teacher in South Webster High School. 3 kids taken to hospital after fire breaks out at north Edmonton children’s shelter – Edmonton

Three children were taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a children’s shelter in north Edmonton on Thursday night. A spokesperson for Edmonton Fire Rescue Services told Global News that they believe the children were taken to the Stollery Children’s Hospital because of possible smoke inhalation.They said firefighters were called to the blaze in the area of 133 Avenue and 101 Street at 8:30 p.m. When they arrived, firefighters saw flames coming from the roof of Kids Kottage, a crisis prevention and intervention shelter for infants and children.The EFRS did not provide details about the condition of those taken to hospital or about how the fire may have started.
