‘Destiny 2’ Combat Mod Changes, Old Raid And Dungeon Origin Traits Are Coming

Destiny 2 Bungie This week, uh at Bungie, we got a very decent TWAB that had Destiny 2 weapons sandbox designer Mercules revealing a whole lot of big changes that are coming in Season 18, with hints about further changes coming later. Well, Mercules, like many Bungie hires, used to be a part of the community itself, and he returned to his old podcast, Destiny Massive Breakdowns, to talk more about those sandbox changes for three hours. While he went over a lot of existing information, there’s a whole lot more detail he fleshed out including some hints about some potentially major changes coming down the line. While the podcast itself is great, I figured it would be good to summarize the key points. I have relied on Kujay and Fading Shadow here who did great work ...

A Grand ‘Destiny 2’ Season 18 And Lightfall Theory To Make Sense Of The Mystery

Rasputin Bungie Destiny 2 has moved into a phase where they don’t want to tell us essentially anything about upcoming content until the day it launches, something that I would deem a lackluster marketing strategy, but hey, Bungie can do what it wants. In the past week or so, we have been told that we will not hear anything significant about season 18 until the day it launches, August 23, where there will be a big Destiny showcase that also focuses on Lightfall, next year’s expansion. We were also told we wouldn’t be hearing which Destiny 1 raid was coming back until that day either, even though it launches just three days later. It seems increasingly likely we’re not going to be learning details of Arc 3.0 until it’s live in the game either, which is what happened ...

Bungie Reduces Communication With Destiny 2 Community After Threats

Bungie has confirmed that it has been intentionally reducing its communication with the Destiny 2 community after excessive harassment and threats directed at the studio. Bungie has always been a very transparent studio, even going back to its days on the Halo series. Not only would it actively engage with the community via special in-game events and content, but it would also release things like the vidocs, which were behind-the-scenes videos that highlighted the development of its games. They were incredibly well received and a breath of fresh air for a notoriously secretive industry that largely has to keep things airtight due to the ever-changing nature of game development.Nonetheless, Bungie has been less engaged with its community in recent weeks and months. Bung...

Bungie’s ‘Destiny 2’ Silence Is Due To ‘Real Threats Towards Our People And Studio’

Destiny 2 Bungie If you’re a Destiny 2 player, chances are you may have noticed a shift in communication from Bungie, where its employees were normally pretty open about chatting about the game, and we’d get massive, deep-dive TWABs or State of the Game posts with relative frequency. Interactions on Twitter or in reddit threads about the specifics of the game were common. But now? Most of that has stopped. The scores of Bungie employees I follow are mostly just tweeting about personal things, and if there is anything that has to do with the company, it’s usually sharing open job listings. There’s almost no direct engagement about the game itself. And that’s on purpose. Responding in a reddit thread about how players missed hearing from Bungie in the subreddit li...
