Students design and build ‘artbots’ at Lancaster Science Factory [photos] | Entertainment

Markers and pipe cleaners transformed into miniature art-making robots in the hands of young engineers at Lancaster Science Factory Friday afternoon.

Students in grades 2-8 created “artbots” with small electric motors as a way to learn about electricity.

Lancaster Science Factory will continue its hands-on STEM classes like the artbot workshop in future weeks. Registration is also open for the science center’s summer camps.

The museum celebrated the unveiling of its High Foundation Sky Bridge Friday, which features 35 panels surrounded by wire mesh, suspended in the air from steel beams. Each panel can support over 900 pounds of weight.
