Snake Eyes trailer: Henry Golding commands the G.I. Joe reboot

The G.I. Joe cinematic universe is back with a complete reboot, on screen in the very first trailer for Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, which debuted throughout the MTV Motion Picture Awards. The brand-new motion picture will follow the training and early fights of the lethal ninja Snake Eyes, and most likely demonstrate how he signed up with the G.I. Joe group.

The trailer keeps things incredibly unclear and only mean the story the motion picture may follow. We see Snake Eyes, played by Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding, as he appears to start training with the G.I. Joe-universe Japanese clan called the Arashikage. With them, Snake Eyes finds out how to end up being a ninja warrior and keep peace on the planet. However we don’t get lots of information on what may be threatening that peace.

Rather the trailer has plenty of fast however quick shots of action scenes, like a highway motorbike goes after, a roof sword-fight in the rain, and a close quarters weapon battle. We likewise get looks from a member of Cobra called The Baroness, played by Úrsula Corberó from Cash Break-in, and Snake Eyes’ most likely ally Scarlett, played by Samara Weaving from Prepared or Not.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is an entirely clean slate for the series’ theatrical universe. The previous big-screen variations of the G.I. Joe universe had 2 films: 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Increase of Cobra and 2013’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Neither motion picture handled to end up being a blockbuster at package workplace, or be especially great, so Paramount chose to retool the series and begin over from scratch.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is arranged to launch in theaters on July 23.
