Simu Liu makes his hosting debut on ‘Saturday Night Live.’ See his top moments

“I am officially Marvel’s first openly Chinese superhero,” he chuckled throughout his opening monologue.

He included: “A lot of people ask me how I landed a role in a Marvel movie. The truth is, I got Shang-Chi how every Canadian gets their big break, by asking politely.”

Karaoke All-Stars

Liu participated in a karaoke section where he played a “finance bro trying to get laid” by covering the Backstreet Boys hit “I Want It That Way.”

Republican or Not

Video game program candidates Liu and Ego Nwodim are provided ideas to attempt to determine which visitors are Republican politicians.

“I think Facebook is evil,” the entrant states.

Liu’s character reacts, stating, “Oh wow, because they’re spreading disinformation or because they banned Donald Trump?”

911 call

A group of teachers smoke cannabis and get so high that they believe they are dead. The teachers take turns calling 911 with Liu’s character informing the dispatcher, “My name is Alan and I am dead.” He included, “Will you still be able to get here even though I’m not where time is?”

Thanksgiving baking champ

They pretend to do a Food Network bake-off, and they’re all making joyful cakes for Thanksgiving. Liu plays Mike, an amateur baker and rap artist. “My name is Mike, and I’m here to bake,” he raps prior to tracking off. He makes 2 cakes and exposes that he baked them incorrect. Let’s simply state the cakes do not look edible.

Correction: A previous variation of this story improperly recognized Liu in part of a sketch. It has actually been remedied.
