‘Rust’ crew member dead after shooting incident involving Alec Baldwin

The prop gun was released by star and manufacturer Alec Baldwin, 68, according to the Santa Fe County Constable’s Workplace.

The female victim was recognized as director of photography Halyna Hutchins, 42, according to private investigators. She was transferred to the health center through helicopter and pronounced dead by medical workers at University of New Mexico Health Center.

The other victim, 48-year-old director Joel Souza, was transferred to Christus St. Vincent’s Regional Medical Center by ambulance for care. Information on his condition were not launched.

“According to investigators it appears that the scene being filmed involved the use of a prop firearm when it was discharged,” a declaration from authorities stated. “Detectives are investigating how and what type of projectile was discharged.”

The occurrence taken place Thursday at around 1:50 p.m. regional time, private investigators stated.

“Rust” is a Western movie set in the 1880s that stars Baldwin, Travis Fimmel and Jensen Ackles.

Email ask for remark sent out to the movie’s production business and an agent for Baldwin were not instantly returned.

The Constable’s Workplace stated the examination “remains open and active” and no charges have actually been submitted.
