Ron DeSantis Hints at Consequence for Woke Companies
Florida guv Ron DeSantis cautioned corporations versus attempting to “genuflect” to “wokeness” in discuss Fox News’s Sunday Early Morning Futures.
When asked what he thought of Big league Baseball’s choice to move the All-Star Video game far from Atlanta, Ga., DeSantis hinted that corporations need to anticipate some kind of retaliation.
MLB moved the All-Star Video game to Denver, Colo., in demonstration of Georgia’s recently-passed elections law that mandates image recognition from all citizens, prohibits political groups from distributing food and water at ballot stations, and enacts numerous other procedures.
“I guess they have the right to do what they want, but if you’re gonna stick your beak into issues that don’t directly concern you, then I think elected officials are then gonna stick their beak into issues that may not concern them,” DeSantis informed host Maria Bartiromo.
“What about all the other jurisdictions that you’re in that have, quote, ‘more restrictive laws,’” DeSantis included. “What about the fact that you’re doing business with the Communist Party of China, the fact that you’ve done business with the Castro regime in Cuba?”

DeSantis cautioned that “corporate America, by trying to genuflect to this wokeness…they’re going to tie themselves in knots trying to please the extreme left.”
The Georgia ballot law was passed in the wake of President Trump’s claims that Democrats “stole” the election through extensive citizen scams. Democrats, consisting of President Biden, have actually slammed the Georgia law as an upgrade on Jim Crow laws developed to avoid African Americans from ballot.
Numerous corporations signed a letter recently opposing “discriminatory legislation” that would make it more difficult to vote.
