Resident Evil Village demo, Maiden, now available on PS5
PlayStation 5 owners can get a taste of the next Citizen Evil beginning today. On Thursday, Capcom launched a playable demonstration referred to as Maiden, a stand-alone sampler of Citizen Evil Town’s scary castle.
Maiden includes its own playable character (the titular maiden), and gamers are charged with getting away the castle’s dungeon and eventually the castle itself. Maiden does not include any fight, so while it doesn’t play specifically like Citizen Evil Town will, Capcom hopes that “players get a real feel for the visuals and audio” of the approaching video game.
“The Maiden demo doesn’t take place during the main story of Resident Evil Village.,” manufacturer Pete Fabiano stated in a PlayStation Article. “Maiden was originally designed as a visual demo that would allow you to explore the inside of Dimitrescu Castle, but it evolved to include a short story and puzzle solving.”
The demonstration will include ray tracing and 3D audio impacts. Maiden is unique to PlayStation 5, however Capcom states that a different demonstration for Citizen Evil Town will be offered on all platforms at some point this spring.
Capcom used a comparable preview of Citizen Evil 7 biohazard with the Cooking Area demonstration. Cooking Area was unique to PlayStation VR, and used a scary seated virtual truth experience in the house of the Baker household. Capcom later on launched a “Beginning Hour” demonstration for Citizen Evil 7.
Citizen Evil Town will be launched worldwide on May 7, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
