Regé-Jean Page will not appear in ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2

The unfortunate news to some was available in the kind of a note from the program’s Girl Whistledown character, published on “Bridgerton’s” validated Twitter account.

“Dear Readers, while all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings,” the statement read. “We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family.”

The star informed Range among the factors he initially signed up with the task was since he understood it would be brief term.

“It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end — give us a year,” Page stated. “[I thought] ‘That’s interesting,’ because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.”

“Bridgerton” is based upon the 2000 book “The Duke and I,” composed by love author Julia Quinn and becomes part of a series of books.
The brand-new season will follow Lord Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, as he tries to discover a partner. Simone Ashley has actually been cast as his love interest.

However while the Duke of Hastings is leaving, his Duchess will still be around.

“Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer — more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear,” the statement read.

Phoebe Dynevor plays Daphne Bridgerton Basset.
