Packers’ Jones, Bucs’ Whitehead leave NFC championship game
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay running back Aaron Jones left Sunday’s NFC national championship early in the 3rd quarter with a chest injury suffered when he was taken on and fumbled going to the ground on a struck by Tampa Bay security Jordan Whitehead.
Jones’ fumble established Tom Brady’s 3rd goal of the day, putting Tampa Bay up 28-10. Whitehead left with a shoulder injury on Green Bay’s next belongings.
Jones stayed on the sideline and is noted as doubtful to return. The Bucs revealed Whitehead is out, leaving them with a set of backup securities in the lineup. Novice Antoine Winfield, Jr., is non-active with an ankle injury.
Packers protective lineman Tyler Lancaster was hauled to the locker space midway through the 3rd quarter with his ankle injury. He and linebacker Krys Barnes, who suffered a thumb injury, are doubtful to return.
