Xbox Game Pass is a revolving catalog of games. As new games are added each month, some older titles are also removed. Microsoft hasn’t officially announced which games will depart the service at the end of the month, but Pure Xbox noticed the “leaving soon” tab for Xbox Game Pass on console and PC.
They saw that nine games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass at the end of the month on December 31. And one of those games is the critically acclaimed and award-winning action-adventure Outer Wilds.
From developer Mobius, Outer Wilds is an open-world mystery about a solar system trapped in an endless time loop. As a new recruit of Outer Wilds Ventures, a space program searching for answers in a strange and constantly evolving solar system, it’s up to you to discover the answers to such things as who built the alien ruins on the moon and can the endless time loop be stopped.
Outer Wilds boasts an impressive 85 score on Metacritic from both reviewers and users. So if you haven’t yet played the game, you’ve got a little over a week to do so before it leaves Xbox Game Pass.
There are also eight other games reportedly leaving Xbox Game Pass at the end of the month. They are Embr, Gorogoa, Iron Harvest, Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars, Scarlet Nexus, Secret Neighbor, The Pedestrian, and Tropico 6. Embr, Gorogoa and Iron Harvest are PC-only, while the others are also available on the console.
Microsoft hasn’t made any official announcements regarding Xbox Game Pass departures at the end of the month, so for now just treat this as rumors. But it wouldn’t hurt to use this holiday break to play through some of these games just in case they do end up leaving the service.
