Matthew McConaughey Could Be Governor Of Texas As He Leads Greg Abbott By 12 Points

Star Matthew McConaughey might be a major prospect for guv of Texas as he leads Greg Abbott 45%-33%.

The survey carried out by The Dallas Early Morning News and the University of Texas at Tyler discovered:

If he were to start and run for guv, the survey discovered, 45% of Texas signed up citizens would choose McConaughey, 33% would choose Abbott, and 22% would choose somebody else.

McConaughey’s double-digit lead over the two-term Republican incumbent is substantial. The survey, carried out April 6-13, surveyed 1,126 signed up citizens and has a margin of tasting mistake of plus or minus 2.92 portion points.

However 56% of Republican citizens stated they’d choose Abbott, compared with just 30% for McConaughey.

While Democrats broke 66% to 8% for McConaughey, and independents 44% to 28%, more than two times as numerous Democratic main citizens — 51% — stated they desired a progressive prospect for guv than desired a centrist — 25%.

McConaughey has actually recommended that he is a centrist, which may not review well with the state’s Independent citizens. McConaughey is among those celeb prospects who may survey much better as a theoretical than he would fare if his project came true.

The star has not stated whether he would run as a Democrat or an Independent. The chances are close to zero that he would challenge Abbott in the Republican politician primary.

The message that Democrats must remove from the survey is that Greg Abbott is not in a politically strong position, and somebody like McConaughey might beat him and do what practically appears abstruse by choosing a non-Republican guv of Texas.
