Lionel Messi suspended 2 matches for hitting opponent

The Spanish soccer federation suspended Lionel Messi for 2 matches on Tuesday after he struck a challenger in an event far from the ball in the Spanish Super Cup last.

The Barcelona forward was dealing with a suspension of approximately 12 matches for swinging his arm at an Athletic Bilbao gamer at the end of the group’s 3-2 loss on Sunday.

The federation’s competitors committee did not consider the event to be serious and used a less serious charge versus the gamer.

After passing the ball out to the left flank, Messi swung his best arm at the head of Athletic forward Asier Villalibre as they ran towards package. Villalibre right away was up to the ground and after a video evaluation, Messi was provided his very first red card in 753 looks for Barcelona.

Referee Gil Manzano stated in his match report that Messi struck his challenger with ”extreme force” while the ball was not near him.

Messi will miss out on Barcelona’s match versus third-division club Cornella in the Copa del Rey and versus Elche in the Spanish league.
