Lille complain about pitch after draw, Nice suffer surprise loss

Lille criticised the state of the pitch at their own Stade Pierre-Mauroy after the having a hard time Ligue 1 champs were held to a 1-1 draw by Nantes on Saturday, while second-placed Good lost in your home to bottom club Metz.

Jocelyn Gourvennec’s Lille, who are leading of their Champions League group, sit 12th in Ligue 1 and are winless in 6 league matches.

Burak Yilmaz provided an early lead versus Nantes prior to Ludovic Blas’s 24th-minute leveller.

Going to full-back Fabio was sent with 12 minutes staying, however the in-form Jonathan David missed out on the resulting charge.

Lille’s gamers and Gourvennec turned their ire towards the grass after the video game.

“It’s hard to play out from the back when you’re being pressed on a pitch like that,” stated Lille coach Gourvennec.

“I don’t like to talk about it, but it’s a fact. What’s the solution? I don’t know. We often talk about it with the president.

“It’s a genuine issue — we do not have an excellent quality pitch. Apart from making observations, I do not understand what I can do. Do we require a financial investment? I do not understand.”

Good missed out on the opportunity to near within 8 points of league leaders Paris Saint-Germain as they dropped to a 1-0 defeat by Metz.

It was just Metz’s 2nd league win of the project and draws them level on points with second-bottom Saint-Etienne, who host PSG on Sunday.

Good take on PSG on Wednesday however already might be 14 points off the rate.
