Jeff McNeil out of Mets lineup due to ‘a little fatigue’ in his left leg
Jeff McNeil was held out of Friday’s lineup as the Mets ready to host the Toronto Blue Jays at Citi Field this weekend.
Throughout his pregame accessibility, Luis Rojas stated McNeil is dealing with “fatigue,” particularly in his left leg.
“He came in yesterday, he got tested, they ran him. It’s still a little fatigue, specifically in his left leg,” Rojas stated. “So the performance right now is being extremely precautious with him, just because it takes him back to a similar spot to where he was before he got hurt in Tampa.
“There’s not a separated area I believe today, however they’re simply being incredibly precautious with him. …Not to begin today, however his accessibility off the bench remains in check. We’ll see this afternoon, we’ll see where he’s at.”
McNeil was sidelined with a hamstring injury for over a month prior to returning in late June. Given that returning, McNeil is slashing .275/.353/.319.
