How To Change Brake Light
If you need to know how to change brake light bulbs, then this article will show you how. There are many reasons why a brake light may go out but it’s usually caused by an electrical problem. When this happens, you will need to locate the problem and either fix it or replace the bulb. In this guide, we will show you how to change light bulbs and replace them in your car. We will also cover the basic steps on how to do it yourself.
The first thing that you have to do is to find out where the old light bulb is and then you can easily remove it from its socket. You can use a screwdriver to remove the old one. Step by step, you can remove the old brake light bulb from its socket. The next thing that you need to do is to locate the wire that runs along the base of the bulb. Once you located it, turn the new bulb socket, and tie it to the wire.
The next thing that you need to do is to remove the old bulb and then attach the new one to the mounting bolts. You should use the same wire that was used to tie the wire to the mounting bolts. Once you have successfully mounted the new bulb onto the mounting bolts, you will have to locate the wires coming from the tail light switch. Once you have found it, tie it, and slip it into its socket.
The third step that you have to do is to locate the mounting bolts and twist them using your pliers. Once you have twisted all the mounting bolts, you can push the bulb into its socket. However, you have to make sure that the tail light lens is facing the right direction. Once you have installed the bulb, you will notice that there will be a gap between it and the front of the brake light lens. This is what you have to fill with the new filling fluid.
The fourth step that you have to do is to line the gap with some filler. You have to make sure that you get the exact size so that you can be sure that it is even. After you have placed the filler in its appropriate spot, you should push the bulb into it. Make sure that the bulb is pushed all the way into the fender. Once you have done this, you should look for the wires coming from the tail light switch.
The fifth step that you have to do is to reconnect the wires to their terminal connectors. You have to make sure that they are properly attached because if they are not, you may have to go back to the original place just to make sure that everything is connected correctly. Now, you should proceed to remove the old light bulb. It is also advisable for you to use the socket wrench that you have just used to loosen the nut on the bulb. Once the nut is loosened, you should pull out the bulb and the old brake light bulbs.
The next step that you have to do is to reconnect the wires to their terminals. Again, you have to be careful to not allow any of the wires to come into contact with any other parts. Then, you should proceed to reattach the light switch to its terminal connector. If you have replaced the headlights with the HID lights, you have to make sure that the screws are well tightened. In order to protect the wires and the switch, you should turn them over and stuff them with new cable tie.
By following the above mentioned instructions, you will be able to know how to change brake light with ease. You should remember that changing the light may take a little bit of time so you have to prepare yourself for that. Also, when you are finished with reconnecting all the wires and stuff, you should push down on the underside of the light switch and try to pull it out from the housing. When you are done with this task, you should remove the screws from the switch housing. You should be able to remove it easily from its own backside.
