Gina Carano out of Star Wars for good, says Lucasfilm

Gina Carano, who played Cara Dune in 2 seasons of Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian, will not appear in future seasons or spinoff Star Wars jobs, a representative for Lucasfilm informs Polygon.

Carano formerly stirred debate throughout The Mandalorian season 2 after numerous social networks occurrences including transphobic and anti-non-binary declarations. Then, on Wednesday, the MMA-fighter-turned-actress reshared an Instagram story post (given that erased) that recommended that responses to her out of favor political and social beliefs belonged to the treatment of Jewish individuals throughout the Holocaust. Responses on Twitter that saw Carano’s contrast as anti-Semitic assisted the hashtag #FireGinaCarano pattern throughout the platform.

“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” the Lucasfilm representative stated in a declaration. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
