Extraction 2 Netflix release date revealed by Chris Hemsworth

Previously this year, Netflix upgraded its curious audience on the platform’s leading 10 most most-watched motion pictures of perpetuity. At the top was an apparent competitor: the down-and-dirty, Chris Hemsworth-led action thriller, Extraction. Produced by the Russo bros. and directed by Avengers: Endgame stunt planner Sam Hargrave, the motion picture laced a ’90s-period political thriller with modern-day direct-to-video action. 2 months into an international pandemic, it was an enormous hit. Undoubtedly, we’re getting Extraction 2.

Hemsworth was on hand at Netflix’s Tudum fan occasion on Saturday to break the news.

“If you thought our first film pushed the limits, wait until you see what Sam and I have planned for this next installment.”

At the end of Extraction, Hemsworth’s black-ops merc Tyler Rake took a bullet to the neck while securing Ovi, the kid of an Indian drug lord. Few methods to come back from among those! However the Russos understand what they’re dong, and Extraction ends on a note where a blurred figure that looks a heck of a lot like Rake surface areas in Ovi’s life. A lot of space for a direct follow up … or possibly a prequel to Rake’s early days in the Australian army? Heck, Extraction 3 can’t be far behind.

Netflix did not reveal a date for Extraction 2. Hemsworth will next be seen in the upcoming Marvel Studios fourquel, Thor: Love and Thunder, due out on May 6, 2022.
