The NHL suspended Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin one video game for roughing Lightning forward Mathieu Joseph.
As the suspension description video notes, part of the factor for the penalty is the “retaliatory nature” of Larkin’s punch on Joseph. When viewing the video, you’ll obviously note Joseph’s hit on Larkin prior to that response. It doesn’t seem like Joseph will get additional discipline for his examine Larkin.
In between retaliation and the “forceful” punch, the NHL figured out that Larkin was worthy of a one-game suspension. It’s the very first time the 25-year-old’s been fined or suspended by the NHL.
Larkin got a match charge as an outcome of the play, also.
This was midway through a wild video game where the Red Wings wasted 4-1 and 6-3 results in the Lightning, who won 7-6 in OT.
Due to that suspension, Larkin will miss out on Saturday’s Red Wings – Canucks video game. He’s qualified to return versus heaven Jackets in Detroit on Tuesday.
