Detroit Tigers win Casey Mize’s first spring training start, 6-1, against Pirates

BRADENTON, Fla. — The Detroit Tigers got a 6-1 win versus the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday at LECOM Park in Bradenton, Florida. The Tigers enhanced to 2-1 in Grapefruit League play.

What took place: The Pirates asked for the video game be cut from 7 to 5 innings; Tigers supervisor AJ Hinch didn’t grumble. Casey Mize began and pitched 2 scoreless innings, setting out 3 batters.
