Daytona Xfinity starting lineup: AJ Allmendinger on pole

AJ Allmendinger will begin on the pole for Friday night’s Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway (7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN).

Noah Gragson signs up with Allmendinger on the front row. Brandon Jones begins 3rd. Justin Allgaier begins 4th. Harrison Burton begins 5th.

Allmendinger is coming off his triumph last weekend at Michigan.

The Daytona Xfinity beginning lineup is set by utilizing a formula based upon 4 analytical classifications: owner points position, owner last race position, and the surface and fastest lap from the most just recently finished race.

Efficiency Metrics Qualifying is a formula based upon the previous race. The formula is 15% of a fastest lap time position, 25% of the chauffeur’s last race surface position, 25% of the owner’s last race position and 35% of the owner points position. Any ties will be broken by the guideline book.
