Cubs acquire outfielder Harold Ramirez from Guardians

The Cubs included outfield depth Monday, obtaining Harold Ramirez from the Guardians for a money factor to consider.

Ramirez invested the previous 2 seasons with Cleveland, slashing .268/.305/.398 with 7 crowning achievement and 41 RBIs in 99 video games in 2021. 

The 27-year-old burglarized the major leagues with the Marlins in 2019, batting .276/.312/.416 with 11 homers and 50 RBIs in 119 video games. His 116 hits that season ranked 6th amongst National League novices.

Ramirez, a right-handed player, has experience at all 3 outfield areas and was strong versus lefties in 2021 (.288/.333/.441 in 126 plate looks).

The Cubs now have 8 outfielders on their 40-man lineup in Ramirez, Jason Heyward, Ian Happ, Rafael Ortega, Michael Hermosillo, Greg Deichmann and potential customers Alexander Canario and Nelson Velazquez.

Ramirez, whom Cleveland designated for project Friday, runs out minors choices.

The Cubs 40-man lineup now stands at 38.
