Commercial Phone Service Providers in My Area
Trying to find the best commercial phone service providers in my area was quite difficult. First I had to see which companies offered local calling at a reasonable price. Then I had to see if there were any rebates available on the packages I was interested in. Most of the time, the answers were very vague and gave me a little direction. So, what I finally did was get a couple of quotes and then decide which company to subscribe to.
My first experience with commercial phone service was with a residential phone company. I chose this provider because it was close to where I worked. The only problem with them was that they charged a rather high rate for residential calling plans. I had to pay almost double for international calling, something I wasn’t bothered by since my calling area was mostly within the United States. Fortunately I discovered this before I had to change companies.
I did not have much luck with local providers either. I did find one that was reasonably priced, but their prices were so steep that they made no difference to me in our daily calls. I really liked their service, though, until I learned that they sold local calling cards. These cards cost about the same as a basic call plan without extra fees. I could hardly believe that they would sell such a thing to people. I still have their card to this day.
Then I started seeing ads from nationwide phone service providers. It seemed like every time I turned around there was another company offering me some kind of deal. I’m not sure why there are so many companies that want my business. I suppose it’s because these providers can provide more bang for my dollar. I’m willing to bet that their overhead is lower than most local companies’.
Unfortunately, these same phone service providers that gave me so much trouble now seem to be lowering their prices without any warning. It is so confusing to me. I am no expert in this field, but I can make educated guesses as to what my next step should be. Should I continue with them or look elsewhere?
I am aware that I am not the only one who has experienced this dizzying ride through the yellow pages. Every time I turn around I am bombarded by offers from different companies. Many of these companies will give you a special rate if you sign up to their calling plans. The problem with this is that these companies are all in the same business. If they want your business they will charge you whatever they feel they need to. If you look at the numbers, these providers are not particularly affordable.
So what do I do? Well, I have looked up various companies in my area and discovered a couple of different options. One company provides a number of discount VoIP services for businesses that use a PC. All I had to do was pay a small start-up fee and I was connected. Another set of phone service providers in my area provides basic services like phone answering and voicemail.
With both options I am able to receive calls and send them when I choose. If my commercial business uses a cell phone I do not have to worry about this either. Both options provide me and my employees with high-quality phone service. My employees can use their cell phones during my business hours and I can guarantee that no one will be calling my home or my personal cell phone. This has completely eliminated one of the largest irritants to me and has helped me manage my time better.
