Car meet up raises money for friend’s leukemia treatment in Tamaqua

TAMAQUA, Pa. — A group collected in Schuylkill County on Saturday to reveal their flights for a great cause.

More than 200 cars and trucks were on display screen at Home town Farmers Market in Tamaqua.

Organizers state the meet-up along Mahanoy Opportunity was to raise cash for a good friend fighting leukemia.

They were overwhelmed with the assistance from the neighborhood.

“I got here about 4:30, and there was already about 20 people before it even started. However, it starts at 5, and right around 5, we already had over 100 vehicles here. As of right now, it’s going pretty good, and I’m happy,” stated organizer Matthew Larsen of Schuylkill Sanctuary.

Organizers want to make the meet-up a routine occasion and raise cash for other causes, consisting of suicide awareness.
