Butler scores season-high 37, Heat beat Rockets 120-110
HOUSTON (AP) Jimmy Butler scored a season-high 37 points and the short-handed Miami Heat developed a huge lead early and hung on for a 120-110 win over the Houston Firecrackers on Friday night.

But Miami scored five quick points after that, with a 3 from Haywood Highsmith, to pad the lead.
Miami was up by 18 again late in the third before the Firecrackers scored the last 5 points of the quarter to cut the result in 100-87 entering the 4th.
Heat: P.J. Tucker, Zylan Cheatham, Marcus Garrett, Udonis Haslem, Duncan Robinson, Max Strus and Gabe Vincent all sat out due to health and safety protocols. Robinson’s absence Friday night ended his franchise-record streak of 182 consecutive games played, dating to April 2019. … Omer Yurtseven had 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Rockets: Jalen Green had 16 points and Wood had 18. … D.J. Augustin, DeJon Jarreau and Garrison Mathews missed the video game because of health and safety protocols. … Alperen Sengun injured his right ankle in the first half and didn’t return.
