Animal Crossing horror short to become feature film

Don’t Glance, a scary movie set both in Animal Crossing and the real life, will go from brief movie to function movie, Due date reported on Wednesday. The brief movie initially premiered at SXSW Online previously today. Timur Bekmambetov — director of Desired and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter — and his production banner, Bazelevs, have actually chosen it up for a full-length production.

Don’t Glance, produced by Julian Terry, is a six-minute scary movie including Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In the brief, an unnamed lady plays the Nintendo Change video game on her bed late during the night. She rapidly discovers that anything she performs in the video game occurs in her real-world bed room — opening a drawer, shutting off the light, etc.

After just a few minutes of experimentation, the lady sees a shape of a beast in the entrance of her Animal Crossing house. The beast then continues to torture the lady in both her virtual and real-life bed rooms. It’s a quite scary brief movie that must resonate with late-night Animal Crossing designers, and definitely a concept that somebody might extend into a longer movie.

It’s unclear at this moment whether Bekmambetov himself will direct the full-length variation of Don’t Glance.
