CHICAGO (CBS) — A 71-year-old guy was shot and eliminated on a Chinatown walkway in broad daytime Tuesday.

As CBS 2’s Suzanne Le Mignot reported, authorities stated the victim was simply heading to the shop to purchase a paper when somebody opened fire.

At 12:30 p.m., Woom Sing Tse was strolling on the walkway in the 200 block of West 23rd Location, off Wentworth Opportunity, when somebody brought up and shot the victim from a silver two-door vehicle, according to authorities and the Cook County Medical Inspector’s workplace.
