2021 Oscar winners: Here’s who won at the Academy Awards

Like every public event taking place over the last fiscal year, the 2021 Oscars event dealt with a substantial obstacle. It’s following a year of pandemic where big assemblies were regularly prohibited or provided substantial unfavorable press. Other awards events discovered different services that never ever had the glamour or intimacy the Oscars desire — for example, the Golden Globes event put the hosts on opposite coasts and made a joke out of their social range and the little audience they played to.

However Academy Awards manufacturers Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher, and Steven Soderbergh chose to enter a various instructions. They styled the opening minutes of the event as the opening credits of a star-studded film, in an effort to stress the production’s scope and aspiration of the event. Opening speaker and One Night In Miami director Regina King called it “an Oscars movie with a cast of over 200 nominees,” and assured the audience that while speakers and receivers were maskless, they were “following all of the rigorous protocols that got us back to work,” with masks changed behind the scenes, and social distancing appreciated. With the audience seated both in commonly spaced seats at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and in a recently developed set at Union Station in Los Angeles, the onscreen audiences felt sporadic, and the video cameras operators didn’t constantly appear to understand where to focus,
